The Disappearance of Shane Fell

36 year old Shane Fell was last seen in Marrero, Louisiana on June 10, 2011. He disappeared after crashing his vehicle on his way home from a night out with friends.

Background

Shane Fell was born on October 9, 1974 and studied metalwork and jewelry at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

At the time of his disappearance he was living in Harvey, Louisiana and worked as a senior technical advisor for VeriFone.

Disappearance

On the evening of June 10, 2011, Shane Fell and his brother were out shooting pool with some friends at Rum Runners on Barataria Boulevard in Morrero, Louisiana. They finished around 12:30 am and left in separate vehicles.

On his way home Shane lost control of his vehicle and flipped it, landing in a ditch on River Road between Marrero Road and Klein Road.

Shane was able to climb out of the passenger side window and spoke to his brother on the phone at 12:40 am, during which he said he wasn’t injured. He told his brother he was going to find a way home from the accident, but his brother told him he was coming to pick him up.

A few minutes later Shane called his brother back to make sure he was on his way. Shane hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

His brother rushed to the scene and arrived about 20 minutes later, but by that time Shane was nowhere to be found.

Investigation

A few police officers were already on the scene by the time his brother arrived, as well as an ambulance and the fire department.

One of Shane’s shoes was found in the mud near the scene of the accident, but no further clues as to his whereabouts were found.

Authorities who initially investigated the accident thought Shane may have fled the scene and was hiding out, though his bank card hasn’t had any activity since he disappeared.

Shane’s brother says he sounded coherent and alert during their phone conversation after the accident. He knew he was on River Road and said he was going to find a way home from the accident. His brother said he was heading there and assumed Shane would be waiting for him.

His family believes he may be suffering from memory loss, and that he might try to go back to Savannah, Georgia where he lived for several years before moving back to Louisiana.

Whereabouts

The location of Shane Fell remains unknown. His family believes he may have suffered a concussion and might not remember who he is. They say it’s uncharacteristic of him to go missing, and that he wouldn’t abandon them or his job.

Authorities do not believe foul play was involved in his disappearance. Shane’s case is currently classified as missing and remains unsolved.

Appearance

White male born on October 9, 1974. Shane has brown hair, hazel eyes, stands 6’0 – 6’2 tall, and weighs 190 – 210 pounds. He wears contact lenses, has a mole under his left eye, and has a scar on his chin.

Clothing & Accessories:
Shane was last seen wearing a long sleeved white dress shirt with brown vertical stripes, blue jeans, black dress shoes, and a cloth bracelet.
